Penalty for practicing optometry without a license

If you practice optometry without following the law or its rules, you can be fined or jailed. Each day you keep doing it counts as a separate violation, so the penalties can add up quickly.

The statute, as written — Penalty

Any person practicing optometry in violation of this chapter or any rule may be fined up to $500 or be imprisoned not more than six months, or both, for each separate violation, and each day of the violation shall constitute a separate offense.
