Each county decides its own number of fire stations

This section gives each county's council the power to decide how many fire stations to set up and keep in its area. It overrides any other state law on this topic. No county is required to have a specific number of stations.

Any other provisions of law to the contrary notwithstanding, the council of each county, may determine the number of fire stations it will establish and maintain within its respective county.
