County lawsuits for false claims

This section says the county's lawyer must look into possible false claims. If the lawyer finds someone broke the false claims rule, the lawyer may sue that person in civil court. It only covers the county's role in starting a lawsuit.

The statute, as written — Civil actions for false claims

The county corporation counsel or county attorney shall investigate any violation under section 46-171. If the corporation counsel or county attorney finds that a person has violated or is violating section 46-171, the corporation counsel or county attorney may bring a civil action under this section.
