County rules for emergency medical services and ambulance units

Each county decides what emergency medical services it will offer, but it must have at least 21 ground ambulances. The county can hire outside companies to provide these services, including air ambulances, or any part of the system.

The county shall determine the levels of emergency medical services that shall be implemented throughout the county; provided that the county shall provide no fewer than twenty-one ground ambulance units. The county may contract to provide emergency medical services, including emergency aeromedical services, or any necessary component of the county system.
