You cannot call yourself a psychologist or do psychology work in Hawaii without a license from this chapter. This rule has exceptions listed elsewhere in the chapter. The license must be obtained before you start.

For section effective July 1, 2026, see below.] Except as otherwise provided in this chapter, it shall be unlawful to represent one's self as a psychologist or engage in the practice of psychology without having first obtained a license as provided in this chapter.
