What happens if part of this law is invalid

If a court decides that one part of this law does not work, the rest of the law still stands. Also, the invalid part only stops applying to the specific person or situation it was found invalid for. Other people and situations are not affected.

The statute, as written — Construction; severability

If any provision of this chapter or the application thereof to any person or entity or in any circumstance is held invalid, the remainder of the chapter and the application of such provision to others or in other circumstances shall not be affected thereby.
