Who can give orders for respiratory care

You cannot practice respiratory care unless a licensed doctor, physician assistant, or advanced practice registered nurse orders and directs your work. This section sets that basic rule and does not cover other details.

The statute, as written — - 4 Order and qualified direction required

No person shall practice respiratory care under this chapter except under the order and qualified direction of a physician or an osteopathic physician licensed pursuant to chapter 453, a physician assistant licensed pursuant to chapter 453, or an advanced practice registered nurse licensed pursuant to chapter 457.
