HRS §466M-12

Out-of-state applicants must agree to accept legal papers

If you apply to register in Hawaii but live outside the state, you must sign a form agreeing to accept legal documents (service of process). The form must be approved by the attorney general. This makes it possible to be sued in Hawaii.
