Appraisal companies must report appraiser violations

An appraisal management company must tell the state director if it reasonably believes an appraiser broke the law or professional rules. This report must follow federal rules. The section only sets this reporting duty.

The statute, as written — Mandatory reporting of violations

An appraisal management company that has a reasonable basis to believe an appraiser has materially failed to comply with applicable laws or rules or has materially violated the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice shall refer the matter to the director in conformance with applicable federal laws and regulations.
