Penalties for breaking this chapter
This section sets the penalties for anyone who breaks this chapter on purpose or gives the attorney general false information in required filings. The punishment depends on whether it is a first offense or a later one.

Any person who intentionally or knowingly violates this chapter, or who intentionally or knowingly gives false or incorrect information to the attorney general in filing statements or reports required by this chapter, whether the reports or statements are verified or not, shall: (1) For the first offense be fined not less than $100 nor more than $500, or imprisoned not more than six months, or both; and (2) For the second and any subsequent offense, be fined not less than $500 nor more than $1,000, or imprisoned not more than one year, or both.
