Fines for working without a license

If you work as an embalmer or undertaker without registering with the health department, you can be fined or jailed. The fine and jail time are set by law. This section only covers the penalty for not registering.

The statute, as written — Penalty

Any person who practices as an embalmer or undertaker without being registered with the department of health as herein provided shall be fined not less than $50 nor more than $250 or imprisoned not less than thirty days nor more than ninety days, or both.
