Fines for breaking this law

Anyone who breaks any rule in this chapter can be fined up to $5,000 for each violation. If the violation of one specific section continues day after day, each day counts as a separate violation, so fines can add up quickly.

The statute, as written — Violations; penalties

Any person who violates or fails to comply with any provision of this chapter shall be fined not more than $5,000 for each violation. Each day that the person is in violation of section 471-2 shall be a separate violation for the purposes of this section.
