Unfair or deceptive act or practice

This section says that if a creditor breaks or tries to break any rule in this chapter, the law treats it as an unfair or deceptive business practice under Hawaii's consumer protection law. It does not set its own penalties; it points to the general consumer protection law.

Any creditor who violates or attempts to violate any provision of this chapter shall be deemed to have engaged in an unfair or deceptive act or practice in the conduct of trade or commerce within the meaning of section 480-2.
