Contracts that break the law are illegal and unenforceable

This section says that any contract, whether written or spoken, that violates certain other rules in this law is illegal. If a contract is illegal, no one can use it to get money or other relief in court. It applies to contracts made by people, companies, or other organizations.

The statute, as written — Illegal contracts

Any contract, express or implied, made by any person, firm, or corporation in violation of any of the provisions of sections 481-1 to 481-7 is declared to be an illegal contract and no recovery thereon shall be had.
