Athlete agents must keep records for five years
Athlete agents must keep certain records for five years, including names and addresses of athletes they represent, their agency contracts, and costs spent recruiting student athletes. These records must be available for the director to inspect during normal business hours.
The statute, as written — Required records
(a) An athlete agent shall create and retain, for five years, records of the following: (1) The name and address of each individual represented by the agent; (2) Each agency contract entered into by the agent; and (3) The direct costs incurred by the agent in the recruitment or solicitation of each student athlete to enter into an agency contract. (b) Records described in subsection (a) shall be open to inspection by the director during normal business hours.
