HRS §481Z-7

When the director can take away or refuse a registration

The director can limit, suspend, revoke, or refuse to renew a registration for reasons that would have prevented it from being issued in the first place. For some registrations, the director can also act for any reason that would have justified refusing to grant or renew. The director must give proper notice and a hearing before taking these actions.

The statute, as written — Limitation, suspension, revocation, or refusal to renew registration

(a) The director may limit, suspend, revoke, or refuse to renew a registration of an individual registered under section 481Z-6(a) for conduct that would have justified refusal to issue a certificate of registration under section 481Z-6(b). (b) The director may suspend or revoke the registration of an individual registered under section 481Z-5(c) or renewed under section 481Z-6(e) for any reason for which the director could have refused to grant or renew registration or for conduct that would justify refusal to issue a certificate of registration under section 481Z-6(b). (c) The director may deny, suspend, revoke, or refuse to renew a certificate of registration after proper notice and an opportunity for a hearing pursuant to chapter 91.
