Protection from lawsuits for sharing information

If you share information as allowed by another law and you do it honestly and carefully, you cannot be sued or penalized for it. This section protects people who help by reporting information in good faith.

The statute, as written — Immunity for third-party disclosures

A qualified person who, in good faith and exercising reasonable care, makes a disclosure of information pursuant to section 485A-804 shall be immune from any administrative or civil liability that might otherwise arise from the disclosure.
