Type evaluation certificate required before commercial or law enforcement use

Before any scale, meter, or other measuring device can be used for business or law enforcement in Hawaii, it must have a certificate showing it passed a national type evaluation by a participating lab. This section only sets that requirement.

Any weight or measure, or any weighing or measuring instrument or device, shall have a certificate of conformance indicating that it has passed a national type evaluation by a participating laboratory, prior to being introduced for use for commercial or law enforcement purposes in the State.
