HRS §486K-8

Staying past your checkout date without permission

If a guest stays in their assigned room after the scheduled departure date without the keeper's written approval, the law treats them as a trespasser. This means they lose the right to stay and may be subject to removal.

The statute, as written — Extension of stay provision

Any guest who intentionally continues to occupy an assigned bedroom beyond the scheduled departure without the prior written approval of the keeper, shall be deemed a trespasser.
