Stopping unfair business practices with a court order

The consumer protection office can go to court to stop a business from breaking the law or doing something unfair to consumers. This section allows them to ask a judge for an order to make the business stop.

The director of commerce and consumer affairs or the office of consumer protection may bring civil proceedings to enjoin any violation of section 487-13(a) or any other unlawful act or practice affecting consumers, trade, or commerce.
