Not following the law does not cancel your agreement

If someone breaks a rule in this chapter, the agreement is still valid and can be enforced. You cannot use the rule violation as a defense in a lawsuit to enforce the agreement or for breaking it.

The statute, as written — Effect of noncompliance

Failure to comply with any requirement imposed by this chapter shall not render any agreement void or voidable nor shall it constitute a defense to any action to enforce such agreement or any action for breach of such agreement.
