Fines for breaking money transmitter rules

If you break this law or the rules or orders made under it, the commissioner can fine you up to $1,000 for each day the violation continues. You also have to pay the state's costs for investigating and taking legal action, including lawyer fees.

The commissioner may assess a fine against a person who violates this chapter or a rule adopted or an order issued under this chapter in an amount not to exceed $1,000 per day for each day the violation is outstanding, plus the State's costs and expenses for the investigation and prosecution of the matter, including reasonable attorneys' fees.
