Deputy registrar appointment and duties

The registrar, with the board's direction, picks a deputy and tells the public about it. The registrar is responsible for the deputy's actions. The deputy takes over the registrar's job when the registrar is away or the job is empty.

The registrar, under the direction of the board of land and natural resources, shall appoint a deputy, for whose official acts the registrar shall be responsible, and whose appointment the registrar shall announce by public notice. The deputy shall act as registrar of conveyances, during the absence of the registrar, or in case of a vacancy in that office.
