If one part of this law is invalid, the rest still stands

This section says that if a court decides one part of this law is invalid, the other parts still work. It only applies to this law, not other laws. This is a standard rule to keep the rest of the law effective.

The statute, as written — Severability

If any provision of this chapter or the application thereof to any person or circumstance, is held invalid, the invalidity thereof shall not affect other provisions or applications of this chapter which can be given effect without the invalid provision or application. To that end, the provisions of this chapter are severable.
