How this law relates to the federal e-signature law

This section says that Hawaii's rules about electronic signatures can change, limit, or replace the federal e-signature law. But Hawaii's rules cannot change the parts of the federal law that protect consumers from certain electronic notices.

The statute, as written — Relation to Electronic Signatures in Global and National Commerce Act

This chapter shall modify, limit, and supersede the Electronic Signatures in Global and National Commerce Act, 15 U.S.C. section 7001 et seq., but shall not modify, limit, or supersede section 101(c) of that Act, 15 U.S.C. section 7001(c), or authorize electronic delivery of any of the notices described in section 103(b) of that Act, 15 U.S.C. section 7003(b).
