Why this law exists

This law encourages landowners to let people onto their land and water areas to control or remove invasive species. It does this by limiting the landowner's legal responsibility if someone gets hurt while doing that work.

The statute, as written — Purpose

The purpose of this chapter is to encourage owners of land to make their land and water areas available to other persons for the purpose of controlling or eradicating invasive species by limiting landowners' liability toward persons entering thereon for such purposes.
