What counts as a reasonable time for actions

This section explains how to figure out if a deadline is reasonable. You and the other party can agree on a time limit as long as it is not clearly unfair. If there is no agreement, what is reasonable depends on the situation.

The statute, as written — Time; reasonable time

(a) Whenever this chapter requires any action to be taken within a reasonable time, any time which is not manifestly unreasonable may be fixed by agreement. (b) What is a reasonable time for taking any action depends on the nature, purpose, and circumstances of the action.
