Disclaiming property interests after the new law takes effect

This section says that if you had a property interest or power on July 1, 2000, and the time to disclaim it under the old law had not yet run out, you can still disclaim it after that date, unless another rule in this chapter says otherwise.

The statute, as written — Application to existing relationships

Except as otherwise provided in section 526-13, an interest in or power over property existing on July 1, 2000 as to which the time for delivering or filing a disclaimer under law superseded by this chapter has not expired may be disclaimed after July 1, 2000.
