Trustee's duty to run the trust properly

Once a trustee agrees to take on the job, they must manage the trust honestly, follow what the trust document says, work for the benefit of the people who get the trust's benefits, and obey the law.

The statute, as written — Duty to administer trust

Upon acceptance of a trusteeship, the trustee shall administer the trust in good faith, in accordance with its terms and purposes and the interests of the beneficiaries, and in accordance with this chapter.
