When a special administrator's appointment ends

A special administrator is a temporary person who handles an estate. Their job ends when the court order says so, or when a general personal representative is appointed. Otherwise, the same rules that end other personal representatives' appointments apply.

The appointment of a special administrator terminates in accordance with the provisions of the order of appointment or on the appointment of a general personal representative. In other cases, the appointment of a special administrator is subject to termination as provided in sections 560:3-608 through 560:3-611.
