Old premarital agreements are still valid

This section says that written agreements made before July 1, 1987, between people planning to marry, which affect this chapter's rules, are still valid and can be enforced if they were valid contracts otherwise.

The statute, as written — Prior agreements

All written agreements entered into prior to July 1, 1987, between prospective spouses for the purpose of affecting any of the provisions of this chapter shall be valid and enforceable if otherwise valid as contracts.
