Getting help with evidence from other states

This section lets a Hawaii court ask a court in another state for help gathering evidence. It also lets a Hawaii court order someone under its authority to answer a discovery request from another state's court.

The statute, as written — Assistance with discovery

A tribunal of this State may: (1) Request a tribunal outside this State to assist in obtaining discovery; and (2) Upon request, compel a person over which it has jurisdiction to respond to a discovery order issued by a tribunal outside this State.
