What happens after you ask for a hearing

When the agency gets your hearing request, it may try to work out a deal with everyone involved. If no deal is reached, the case goes to a hearings officer for a formal contested case hearing.

Upon receipt of a hearing request, the agency may contact the parties and attempt to reach an agreed disposition. If no agreed disposition can be obtained, the matter shall be referred to a hearings officer for contested case proceedings.
