When this law applies to Canadian protection orders
This section says the law applies to Canadian domestic-violence protection orders and enforcement actions started before, on, or after June 17, 2022. It also covers requests to enforce such an order made on or after that date, even if the violation happened earlier.

This chapter shall apply to a Canadian domestic-violence protection order issued before, on, or after June 17, 2022, and to a continuing action for enforcement of a Canadian domestic-violence protection order commenced before, on, or after June 17, 2022. A request for enforcement of a Canadian domestic-violence protection order made on or after June 17, 2022, for a violation of the order occurring before, on, or after June 17, 2022, shall be governed by this chapter.
