Show cause hearing

At any point in the case, the court can call a hearing where the parents must explain why the court should not move forward with ending their parental rights or appointing a legal guardian. This section only sets up that hearing process.

At any stage of the proceeding, the court may set a show cause hearing at which a child's parents shall have the burden of presenting evidence as to why the case should not be set for a termination of parental rights or legal guardianship hearing.
