Where to file a child protective case

This section says where you can file a child protective case. You can file in the county where the child is found or lives, or where a parent with legal custody lives. It only covers location, not other rules.

A child protective proceeding under this chapter may be filed in the county in which a child is found or resides when the petition is filed, or in the county in which a parent having legal custody of the child resides or is domiciled when the petition is filed.
