When a shorter time limit applies

This section says that if another law sets a shorter deadline for filing a lawsuit, that shorter deadline wins. You must file your case within the time that other law gives you, not the longer time in this part.

This part shall not extend to any action which is, or shall be, limited by any statute to be brought within a shorter time than is herein prescribed; but the action shall be brought within the time limited by the statute.
