This law does not change professional duties or reporting abuse

This section says that the law in this chapter does not change the professional responsibility rules for lawyers or other licensed professionals. It also does not change any person's duty to report child or adult abuse, neglect, abandonment, or exploitation under Hawaii law.

This chapter does not affect: (1) The professional responsibility obligations and standards applicable to a lawyer or other licensed professional; or (2) The obligation of a person to report abuse or neglect, abandonment, or exploitation of a child or adult under the law of this State.
