When a court can lower your bail

If you are in jail because you cannot pay the bail set, and that bail seems too high or unfair, the court must decide a reasonable amount. Once you pay that amount, the court must order your release.

The statute, as written — Bail reduced, when

If the person is committed because the person cannot furnish the bail ordered, and the bail which is required appears to be excessive or unreasonable, the court shall decide what bail is reasonable, and shall order that upon furnishing such bail the person shall be discharged from custody.
