Oral leases up to one year are valid

This section says that a verbal lease for real property lasting one year or less is just as valid and enforceable as a written lease, even if other laws say otherwise. It applies to any oral lease that does not go beyond one year.

The statute, as written — Oral leases not exceeding one year, valid

Notwithstanding other provisions of law to the contrary, oral leases of real property for any period not exceeding one year shall be valid and enforceable to all intents and purposes as if in writing.
