Settling a claim stops you from suing over it

If you and the other side agree to settle a claim, you cannot later sue for the part that was settled. This applies whether you settle the whole claim or just part of it.

If the parties resolve the claim in whole or in part, the claimant shall be barred from bringing an action for the resolved claims.
