Escaping with force or a weapon

The statute, as written — Escape in the first degree

(1) A person commits the offense of escape in the first degree if the person intentionally employs physical force, the threat of physical force, or a dangerous instrument against the person of another in escaping from a correctional or detention facility or from custody. (2) Escape in the first degree is a class B felony.
