Witness pay and travel costs at coroner's inquests

Witnesses who show up to a coroner's inquest get paid a small daily fee and travel money per mile. The county where the inquest happens pays these costs and other reasonable expenses.

Every witness attending upon any coroner's inquest shall be paid $1 for each day's actual attendance, and traveling expenses at the rate of 10 cents a mile each way. The fees and mileage of witnesses and all reasonable expenses of the inquisition shall be paid by the county in which the inquest is held.
