Providing a new sample when the first one is unusable
If a biological specimen, sample, or print impression cannot be used, the person who gave it must provide new ones. The law enforcement agency will collect the new samples and send them to the department.

Whenever the department notifies the department of law enforcement or any other law enforcement agency that a biological specimen, sample, or print impression is not usable for any reason, the person who provided the original specimen, sample, or print impression shall submit to collection of additional specimens, samples, or print impressions. The department of law enforcement or other responsible law enforcement agency shall collect additional specimens, samples, or print impressions from these persons as necessary to fulfill the requirements of this chapter, and transmit these specimens, samples, or print impressions to the department.
