Retirement allowance for service-connected disability

If you retire because of a disability caused by your job, you get back the money you put in and a retirement allowance equal to half of your average final pay. This section only sets that amount.

The statute, as written — Allowance on retirement for service-connected disability

Upon retirement for service-connected disability, a member shall receive the amount of the member's accumulated contributions and a maximum retirement allowance that shall consist of fifty per cent of the member's average final compensation.
