HCC §12-32

Assessment liens, priority, and fixing mistakes

Read the official text at hawaiicounty.gov ↗

This section says that property assessments for improvements become a legal claim (lien) on the property, and that claim outranks most other claims except property taxes. It also says small mistakes in the process won't cancel the assessment, and the county can fix errors or redo an assessment if a court throws it out.
