Police Department Staffing and Funding

This section lets the police chief hire staff for this article. The staff must be paid only from fees collected under section 2-173. Hiring can only happen if those fees bring in enough money to cover all costs.

The chief of police is empowered to employ personnel to carry out the purpose of this article. All employee costs, including fringe benefits, shall be provided from fees collected pursuant to section 2-173 of this article. Employment of such personnel shall be contingent on an adequate level of funding being generated by the fees collected to cover all costs. (1996, ord 96-11, sec 1.)2-175.1 Article 35.
