HCC §2-219

Creating the county's budget stabilization fund and its purpose

Read the official text at hawaiicounty.gov ↗

This section creates a special county fund called the budget stabilization fund. The fund is a temporary backup source of money for the county to use during hard financial times, while the county works on a plan to cut costs or increase revenue. It can also help protect county programs and services from revenue shortfalls, changes in state or federal laws, or slower revenue growth during a recession.
