(a) Pursuant to Act 11, Session Laws of Hawai‘i 2018, codified as section 46-16.8, Hawai‘i Revised Statutes, as amended, it is hereby established a 0.25 per cent general excise and use tax surcharge. The general excise and use tax surcharge shall be levied beginning January 1, 2019. (b) After December 31, 2019, pursuant to Act 11, Session Laws of Hawai‘i 2018, codified as section 46-16.8, Hawai‘i Revised Statutes, as amended, it is hereby established a 0.50 per cent general excise and use tax surcharge.
