How to apply for a zoning change

(a) Any application for a change, amendment or other modification or addition to any zoning ordinance may be filed with the director by the owner or lessee holding under a recorded lease of any real estate affected by any such ordinance or to be affected by the proposed changes, upon depositing with the director the sum of $100 to cover all necessary costs. (b) When all the preliminary procedures have been complied with, the director shall refer the application to either the windward or leeward planning commission, or both acting jointly, as provided in the Charter. The designated commission, or both commissions if so required by Charter, shall consider and act upon the application by holding a public hearing, published notice of which shall be given in the manner provided by law.
